Request Data Deletion
If you would like to request deletion of your personal information from CartSprinkle, please follow the instructions below.
For Shopify Merchants
If you have installed the CartSprinkle app on your Shopify store and would like to delete your data:
- Uninstall the app from your Shopify admin
- Contact us with:
- Your Shopify store domain (e.g., yourstore.myshopify.com)
- Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
- Confirmation that you've uninstalled the app
What Gets Deleted
When you request data deletion, we will permanently delete:
- Your shop information and contact details
- All promotion configurations you created
- Analytics and usage data
- Variant selection events (customer interaction data)
- Promotion analytics records
- Any other personal information we collected about you
Note for Customer Data: If you're a Shopify merchant and your customers request data deletion through Shopify's GDPR system, we automatically delete all variant selection events and associated analytics records for those customers.
What Happens to Discount Codes
When you uninstall CartSprinkle, your CartSprinkle generated discount codes are:
- Deactivated - We attempt to automatically deactivate them in Shopify
- Preserved - They remain visible in your Shopify admin
- Reactivatable - You can manually turn them back on if desired
This prevents unwanted discounts from continuing to apply, while giving you the option to keep using any discount codes you want to maintain.
Response Timeline
- Automatic Deletion: 48 hours after app uninstall (allows recovery if reinstalled)
- Manual Requests: Within 48 hours of verification
- Verification Process: We may require identity verification to prevent unauthorized deletion requests
Timeline
We will process your deletion request within 30 days of receiving your contact form submission. You will receive a confirmation email once the deletion is complete.
What We Keep
For legal and accounting purposes, we may retain:
- Basic transaction records (subscription history) for 7 years
- Communications related to legal disputes or fraud investigations
This information is anonymized where possible and kept only as long as legally required.
