Is there a free trial?

Yes! CartSprinkle is currently in free beta. You can install the app and start creating promotions immediately with no credit card required. Beta participants will receive discounted pricing when we launch paid plans.

Can I cancel anytime?

Absolutely. You can uninstall CartSprinkle from your Shopify admin at any time. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees. Your data will be retained for 30 days in case you want to reinstall.

How do I install CartSprinkle?

Simply visit the Shopify App Store, search for 'CartSprinkle', and click 'Add app'. After granting permissions, you'll be redirected to the CartSprinkle dashboard where you can create your first promotion in under 5 minutes.

Do I need to edit my theme code?

No! CartSprinkle works through a theme app embed that you simply toggle on in your theme customizer. Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds → Turn on 'CartSprinkle Gift Auto-Add'. No coding required.

Will CartSprinkle slow down my store?

No. CartSprinkle's theme extension is lightweight (only a few KB) and loads asynchronously, meaning it won't block your page load. It only activates when needed and has minimal impact on performance.

What's the difference between spend threshold and product triggers?

Spend threshold triggers add a gift when customers spend a certain amount (e.g., 'Spend $50, get free tote'). Product triggers add a gift when a specific product is in the cart (e.g., 'Buy this shirt, get free socks'). You can use either based on your goals.

Can I run multiple promotions at once?

Yes! During beta, you can run unlimited promotions simultaneously. If a customer qualifies for multiple promotions, they'll receive all applicable gifts. This is great for tiered offers or product-specific bundles.

What happens if my gift product goes out of stock?

CartSprinkle automatically monitors inventory. When a gift product reaches zero stock, the promotion is automatically paused to prevent customer disappointment. It resumes automatically when you restock the item.

How do I test my promotion before going live?

Always test in an incognito/private browser window to avoid cached data. Add items that meet your criteria, go to cart, and verify the gift appears at $0.00. You can also use Shopify's preview mode to test without affecting live customers.

Can customers remove the free gift?

Yes, customers can remove the gift from their cart if they prefer. If they later re-qualify (by adding more items), the gift will be automatically added back. This gives customers full control over their cart contents.

Does CartSprinkle work with other discount apps?

CartSprinkle creates automatic Shopify discounts to make gifts free. Shopify allows only one automatic discount per order, so CartSprinkle may conflict with other apps using automatic discounts. Discount codes (manual discounts) work fine alongside CartSprinkle.

Can I customize the promotional messages?

Yes! You write your own marketing messages for each promotion. Use your brand voice, include emojis, and customize the text that customers see on your storefront. This helps maintain consistent branding.

How do I schedule a promotion for later?

When creating a promotion, set the start date to a future date. CartSprinkle will automatically activate it at that time. Similarly, set an end date and the promotion will automatically deactivate when the period ends.

What happens to gifts already in carts when I end a promotion?

When you deactivate or delete a promotion, gifts are automatically removed from active carts within a few minutes. Customers will see their cart update to reflect the change. This prevents confusion and maintains accurate pricing.

What themes does CartSprinkle support?

CartSprinkle works with all Shopify themes through the theme app embed feature. This includes Shopify 2.0 themes, older legacy themes, and custom-coded themes. If you have issues, contact tjmapes@gmail.com for help.

Can I see analytics on my promotions?

Basic analytics showing how many times a gift was claimed are available in the dashboard. More detailed analytics including revenue impact, conversion rates, and customer behavior will be available in paid plans after beta.
